Partners Life Actuarial Scholarship

The Partners Life Scholarship supports students pursuing studies in actuarial science, finance, or related fields, reflecting the company’s commitment to developing future leaders in life and health insurance. The scholarship aims to provide opportunities for students to gain insights into pricing, valuation, capital management, and business strategy, with potential connections to career opportunities at Partners Life’s Wellington and Takapuna offices.

Eligibility Criteria for the Partners Life Actuarial Scholarship: 

  • Applicants must be currently studying (undergraduate or postgraduate) at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
  • Applicants must be studying Actuarial Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a similar major.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a second year (or later) of BSc or BCom, majoring in Actuarial Science and intending to complete the major.
  • Applicants should have an A- grade average/GPA of 7 or above.
  • Applicants are selected based on their Academic excellence.
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who intend to finish their studies in the next year and be studying or have completed the ACTS (Actuarial Science) course.
  • Preference will be given to candidates intending to stay and work in New Zealand in the actuarial profession after the completion of their study.

Application Process for the Partners Life Actuarial Scholarship:

  • Applicants must submit an online application form by 4.30 pm on the closing date.
  • Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4.30 pm on the closing date for the application to be considered.
  • Applicants must submit a written application/covering letter that describes why they want to become an actuary, how their current programme of study supports this, and why they would be the best candidate for this award and any potential internship.
  • Applicants must provide a copy of their CV.
  • Applicants must provide a reference.
