Otto and Joan Hirschfeld Scholarship in Medicine at University of Queensland 2025

This scholarship was established by Dr. Brian Hirschfeld through the Queensland Commitment Scholarship Match to honour the memory of his parents. Dr. Otto Hirschfeld, his father, served as Chancellor of the University from 1953 to 1957, and his mother, Mrs. Joan Hirschfeld, created a memorial fund to support scholarships for students at UQ.

Eligibility Criteria for Otto and Joan Hirschfeld Scholarship in Medicine at University of Queensland:

You are eligible if you:

• Are enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine program.
• Can demonstrate financial hardship.
• Do not hold another scholarship considered similar by the Dean.

Application Process:

Eligible students should apply by completing an online application form and including a personal statement (up to 250 words) that outlines:

• Their background and circumstances.
• Their financial need.
• Their efforts to address or overcome their challenges.

Value of the scholarship:

Successful candidates will receive a partial amount of AUD 4,500.
