Oscar Romero Scholarship at University of Oldenburg 2026:

The Oscar Romero Scholarship at the University of Oldenburg supports international students and doctoral candidates who experience an unforeseeable emergency or exceptional hardship through no fault of their own. The Oscar Romero Foundation – Oldenburg provides financial assistance to help eligible students overcome unexpected financial difficulties and continue their studies or doctoral work.

Eligibility Criteria for the Oscar Romero Scholarship at University of Oldenburg 2026:

• Applicant must be an international student or doctoral candidate enrolled at the University of Oldenburg.
• Applicant must be classified as a Bildungsausländer/in, meaning they obtained their university entrance qualification outside Germany.
• Applicant must demonstrate exceptional financial hardship caused by circumstances beyond their control.
• Applicant must, where applicable, hold a valid residence permit for the purpose of studying for a degree or completing a doctorate, generally under Section 16 of the German Residence Act (AufenthG).
• Applicant should ideally demonstrate active involvement in society and/or university politics.
• Applicant must not be a language-course participant, exchange student, or part-time student.
• Applicant must not hold German citizenship in addition to their international status.

Application Process for the Oscar Romero Scholarship at University of Oldenburg 2026:

• Applicant must complete and submit the online application form.
• Applicant must combine all required documents into one PDF file.
• Applicant must name the PDF file using the format Surname_application.
• Applicant must submit a separate complete application for each scholarship if applying for multiple scholarships.
• Applicant must upload the application to the University cloud.
• Applicant must provide the required supporting documents, including:
  • Completed PDF application cover sheet
  • Letter of motivation
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Current academic record showing the average grade, for students
  • Enrolment certificate
  • Copy of residence permit, if applicable
  • Certificate confirming the duration and scope of voluntary work, if applicable

  • Additional evidence relevant to the individual circumstances or scholarship

Value of the Scholarship:

• The scholarship provides up to €1,000.
• The amount is paid in a maximum of two instalments of up to €500 each.
• The scholarship is awarded once a year.
