Ormond Wilson Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington

This scholarship was established in memory of Ormond Wilson. This scholarship supports school leavers pursuing their first undergraduate degree in either the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences or the Faculty of Science at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.

Eligibility Criteria of Ormond Wilson Scholarship:

1. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents, under 19 years of age, and have entered NCEA Level 3 and/or Scholarship exams in the year prior to starting at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
2. Must be enrolled or intending to enrol full-time in the first year of any bachelor’s degree in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences or Faculty of Science (including BPsyc) at Te Herenga Waka.
3. Applicants should intend to remain enrolled until the completion of their bachelor’s degree.

Selection Criteria: 

1. The scholarship is primarily awarded on academic merit, with consideration also given to character, leadership, and contributions to cultural or sporting activities.
2. Financial circumstances are considered, with priority given to applicants facing significant financial hardship due to limited family resources.

Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. 

Award: NZD 3,000.

Note:

1. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the student upon enrolment at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
2. Recipients are required to write a letter of thanks to the donor.
