Eligibility Criteria for Nutmeg Scholarship:

  • Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or an undocumented student who has resided in Connecticut for two or more years.
  • Be a Connecticut resident enrolled in and expected to graduate from a secondary school in Connecticut.
  • Enroll at University of Connecticut beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Demonstrate involvement in leadership activities through high school and/or the community.
  • Show a strong commitment to community service.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Rank, if available, in the top 10% of their graduating class.

The Nutmeg Scholarship provides significant merit-based financial support to outstanding students selected through a highly competitive process.

Application Process:

  • Submit either the Common Application or Coalition Application for admission to UConn.
  • Access and complete the Nutmeg Supplemental Application through the applicant portal.
  • November 1, 2026: Deadline to submit the Common Application or Coalition Application.
  • November 8, 2026: Deadline to submit the Nutmeg Supplemental Application and all required documents.
