    The Nutmeg Scholarship is a prestigious award offered by the University of Connecticut (UConn) to honor the exceptional accomplishments of Connecticut secondary school seniors.     Eligibility Criteria:

    • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. Permanent Resident Aliens, or undocumented students who have resided in Connecticut for at least two years.
    • Connecticut residency and graduation from a Connecticut secondary school are mandatory.
    • Candidates must demonstrate outstanding academic ability, notable service to their school and community, good citizenship, and leadership qualities.
    • Submission of standardized test scores (SAT Score of 1370 or ACT composite score of 30) is optional.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale and a ranking (if available) in the top 10% of the graduating class are required.

    Application Process:

    • Submit the undergraduate admissions application by November 1, 2023.
    • Complete the Nutmeg Supplemental Application by November 8, 2023.
    • Provide a detailed résumé showcasing academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.
    • Submit two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or administrators.
    • Optionally submit standardized test scores (SAT or ACT).
    • Participate in the selection process, which includes evaluating academic performance, letters of recommendation, short answer responses, and leadership experiences. Some applicants may be invited for an interview.
