Overview

The Northumbria Undergraduate Award for September 2025 is designed to provide financial support to eligible UK/Home undergraduate students attending Northumbria University. Successful students will receive a total of GBP 4,000 throughout their undergraduate studies, distributed in installments throughout years one, two, and three.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be UK/Home applicants, including those domiciled in Jersey, Guernsey, The Channel Islands, Ireland, and the Isle of Man.
  • Applicants must apply and enroll on a Full-Time undergraduate course starting at Level 4 at the Newcastle Upon Tyne campus in September 2025.
  • Applicants should choose Northumbria as their firm choice by 30 June 2025.
  • Applicants must meet the conditions of their offer and individual entry requirements.
  • Applicants should be self-funded students (i.e., not sponsored by an employer).
  • Applicants should apply for one or more elements of the Government Student Finance package to have their application means-tested.
  • Applicants need to register with the respective Student Finance authority based on their location.

Application Process:

To apply for the Northumbria Undergraduate Award, applicants must apply no longer than 3000 characters (500 words) answering the question: "How will this Award support your aspirations to succeed in Higher Education?" Applications can be submitted online. Eligible students will be notified after 6 June 2024, and outcomes will be communicated following the results day in August 2025.

Value of the Scholarship:

Successful applicants will receive a total of GBP 4,000, paid in installments over three years of undergraduate study. Payments will be made as follows: GBP 335 (25%) by the end of November 2025, GBP 335 (25%) by the end of February 2026, and GBP 665 (50%) by the end of May 2026. The award is provided on an annual basis, subject to the condition that the student progresses to the next year of study.
