Northern Rivers Community Foundation SCU Bowen Education Fund Scholarship at Southern Cross University 2026

Introduction: 

This Scholarship is funded jointly through the Northern Rivers Community Foundation and Southern Cross University and has been awarded to one or two recipients every year since 2009.

Eligibility requirement Northern Rivers Community Foundation SCU Bowen Education Fund Scholarship :

• Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident living within the Northern Rivers Community Foundation region (including Tweed Heads, Nimbin, Kyogle, Lismore, Casino, Ballina, Byron Bay, and Grafton areas).
• Must be either a commencing school leaver, non-school leaver, or continuing student (with priority for one school leaver and one non-school leaver/continuing student).
• Must demonstrate financial disadvantage or hardship and a commitment to the region through school or community involvement.
• Must submit a 100–200 word introductory statement outlining motivation for applying and future goals.

Value of the scholarship:

A AUD 2,500 award is available to support a full-time student

Application Process:

• Applicants must complete the general scholarship application and submit a 100–200 word introductory statement outlining their motivation for applying and future goals.
• Applications are assessed based on eligibility, demonstrated hardship, and commitment to the Northern Rivers region.
• Selected applicants are awarded a scholarship based on committee review of responses and supporting information.
