Overview

The NHS Learning Support Fund (LSF) provides financial support to students on eligible pre-registration undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare courses starting or continuing from 1 September 2020 onwards.

Eligibility Criteria for NHS Learning Support Fund and Training Grant at Oxford Brookes University 2026:

  • To be eligible for NHS LSF, you must be studying on one of the following healthcare courses:
    • Dental Therapy or Hygiene (Level 5 and 6)
    • Dietetics
    • Midwifery
    • Nursing (Adult, Child, Mental Health, Learning)
    • Disability, Joint Nursing and Social Work
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Operating Department Practitioner (Level 5 and 6)
    • Orthoptics
    • Orthotics and Prosthetics
    • Paramedics (Note: DipHE and FD courses are not eligible)
    • Physiotherapy
    • Podiatry or Chiropody
    • Radiography (Diagnostic and Therapeutic)
    • Speech and Language Therapy

Value of NHS Learning Support Fund and Training Grant at Oxford Brookes University 2026:

  • Training Grant -  £5,000 per academic year.
  • Parental Support - £2,000 / year.  To qualify you need to have at least one dependent child under 15 years, or under 17 years if registered with special educational needs.
  • Travel and Dual Accommodation Expenses - you can claim for excess travel and accommodation costs while you are on your practice placement. 
  • Exceptional Support Fund - students experiencing financial hardship.

Application Process:

Applications must be submitted within six months of the academic year start date, and you should apply through the official NHS LSF system only, as applications via other systems will be rejected.
