The Newtons’ Undergraduate Scholarship in Mathematics was established by Paul and Jenny Newton, both of whom studied Mathematics as undergraduates at the University of Surrey.

Eligibility for Newton’s Undergraduate Scholarship in Mathematics :

To be eligible you must meet the following criteria:

  • have an offer to study at an undergraduate level any subject/s led by the Department of Mathematics at the University of Surrey
  • have chosen the University of Surrey as your first or insurance choice
  • have a family income of no more than GBP 35,000
  • maintain a minimum level of 2:1 (60% or higher) throughout the course

Value of Newton’s Undergraduate Scholarship in Mathematics :

  • The Newtons’ Undergraduate Scholarship in Mathematics provides GBP 3,000 a year for up to three years, plus GBP 1,000 for a Professional Training placement if taken.

The Scholarship aims to encourage and support students from lower-income backgrounds in any undergraduate degree program led by the Department of Mathematics at the University of Surrey.
