New Colombo Plan Scholarship
The New Colombo Plan Scholarship is provided by the Australian Government and offers Australian undergraduate students the opportunity to study, undertake internships and learn a language in the Indo-Pacific region for up to 18 months.
Eligibility criteria for the New Colombo Plan Scholarship:
- The applicant must be an Australian citizen.
- The applicant must not be a current or dual citizen or permanent resident of their proposed primary location or secondary location.
- The applicant must be enrolled, until completion of all overseas study components, in at least one bachelor's degree or bachelor honours degree unit at Murdoch University, excluding Veterinary Science, Nursing and Chiropractic Science.
- The applicant must be undertaking, until completion of all study components, at least one bachelor's degree or bachelor honours degree at the university.
- The applicant must be between 18 and 30 years of age for non-Indigenous applicants, or between 18 and 35 years of age for Indigenous applicants on 1 January 2027.
- The applicant must be in good academic standing
Application process for the New Colombo Plan Scholarship:
- The applicants must register and attend one of the three online information sessions given.
- Murdoch University will select and nominate students to the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
- After nomination, applicants will be invited to apply for the 2027 NCP Scholarship.
- If shortlisted, applicants will be required to attend an online interview.
- If you are selected after your interview, you will be awarded an NCP scholarship at an awards ceremony in Canberra in December 2026.
- The applicants must complete this Expression of Interest form.
