Natural Hazards Research Scholarship at RMIT University 2025

The Natural Hazards Research scholarship is designed for university students enrolled to pursue a PhD or master's in research in areas related to NHRA, including natural hazards resilience and disaster risk reduction.

Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must:

• Be Australian citizens or permanent residents OR international students with confirmed enrollment and ability to fund tuition.
• Be enrolled in or offered a research higher degree (PhD or Masters by Research) at an Australian or New Zealand university.
• Have an Honours degree of at least class 2A or equivalent.
• Be studying full time, though part-time applications may be considered on a pro-rata basis if a compelling reason exists.
• Develop a project proposal (max 2 pages) aligned with the Centre’s research themes and priorities.
• Undertake research with the support of a research team and provide evidence of alignment with the supervisor and team.
• Have an industry sponsor to discuss project outcomes, either independently arranged or via the Centre.

Benefits:

Eligible applicants will get top-up PhD scholarships: up to $15,000 per year for three years.
