National Indigenous Scholarship Program at Western University 2026

Western University offers the National Indigenous Scholarship Program, which supports outstanding incoming Indigenous undergraduate students, recognizing academic excellence, creative and innovative thinking, and meaningful contributions to Indigenous communities.

Eligibility criteria for the National Indigenous Scholarship Program at Western University 2026:

• Applicants must be Indigenous students.
• Applicants must be entering a full-time undergraduate program at Western University’s main campus.
• Applicants must be applying from a Canadian high school or transferring from a post-secondary institution.
• Applicants must meet the minimum academic average required for their selected program.
• Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence, innovative thinking, and contributions to Indigenous communities.

Application Process for the National Indigenous Scholarship Program at Western University 2026:

• Applicants must submit the National Indigenous Scholarship application online through the Western University website.
• Applicants must complete the Student Declaration of Indigenous Citizenship or Membership to verify their Indigenous identity.
• Applicants must provide a reference from a school or community representative, along with their name and email address for submission.
• Applicants must submit an essay as part of the application. 

Value: CAD 50,000 each.

• Five scholarships are awarded annually: three to Canadian high school applicants and two to post-secondary transfer applicants.
