Mr and Mrs Tan Tuck Meng — SUTD Scholarship

The Mr and Mrs Tan Tuck Meng – SUTD Scholarship is available to outstanding undergraduates pursuing their studies at SUTD.

Eligibility Criteria -

The Scholarship is open to Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents and International Students who 

• The applicants must be applying for admission to SUTD’s undergraduate degree programme
• They must've achieved good academic results and also demonstrate financial need (monthly household PCI less than S$2,000)
• They should have good records of service and contribution to the University and/or to the community at large and uphold strong values (passion, integrity, and moral character)

Application process -

• Application for scholarships is made at the same time as the application for admission to SUTD.
• This scholarship may also be available mid-term. Existing students who are eligible will be invited to apply via MyPortal, and late and incomplete submissions will not be processed.
• Scholarships are awarded on the basis of competition among eligible applicants.
• SUTD reserves the right not to award any scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. 

Benefits -

• The Scholarship is valued at S$15,000 per annum for the normal duration (up to four years) of the respective degree programmes at SUTD, subject to good academic standing and other terms. The quantum will be used towards the recipient’s annual subsidised tuition fees.
• No bond is required under the terms of this Scholarship. 
• The Scholarship also covers hostel fees for the Freshman terms where hostel stay is compulsory, i.e., 2 terms.

Note - The recipient must take up the Tuition Grant Scheme (TGS) from the Singapore Government to enjoy subsidised fees. Under the TGS, non-Singaporeans will be obligated to work in Singapore for a minimum period of three years upon graduation.
