Monash University has established the Monash Humanitarian Scholarship to provide financial support to international students who are an asylum seekers on a bridging visa. This scholarship provides an opportunity for high-achieving international students with the ambition to change the future.
Eligibility criteria for the Monash Humanitarian Scholarship:
- Applicants must be international students residing in Australia with bridging visas.
- Applicants must enroll in any undergraduate course of study at the university.
- Applicants must demonstrate a good academic record.
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum ATAR of 70.00
Benefits of the Monash Humanitarian Scholarship:
- Full international student course fees paid for the duration of the undergraduate degree.
- An allowance of $6000 per year (48 credit points of study) until the minimum credit points for your undergraduate degree are completed.
Application Process:
VTAC applicants:
- VTAC applicants will be automatically considered for this scholarship if you apply for the VTAC Equity Scheme (SEAS) between Monday 4 August (9am) and Friday 10 October (5pm) and meet the scholarship eligibility requirements.
- You must have a Monash course listed as at least one of your course preferences in VTAC to be considered.
Non-VTAC applicants and current students:
- If you are a current Monash student or applying directly to Monash for your course, you will need to complete a separate application form to be considered.
- Applications will close on Thursday 11 December 2025 (5pm).
- You must have received a Semester 1 2026 undergraduate course offer, or be enrolled in an undergraduate course, with Monash University by Thursday 11 December 2025 to be considered.
- This scholarship cannot be deferred.
