MIT International Excellence Scholarship 2024

The MIT International Excellence Scholarship was conceived as a direct result of MIT’s desire to create an environment where students from around the world can be inspired and achieve excellence. This scholarship is available only to international students who are commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate program in any of the two trimesters; March or July (excludes November trimester) at MIT.

Eligibility criteria for the MIT International Excellence Scholarship, 2024:

Undergraduate applicants:

• To qualify for the benefit, applicants must be enrolled full-time in the trimester in which they will be starting their studies abroad. 
• Candidates must have completed Australian Year 12 or its equivalent, recording no failing marks and having an overall grade average of 70% or more, with no individual result falling below 65%.
• IELTS (academic) grades with an overall score of 7.0 and no band lower than 6.5 are required of applicants. The application must be accompanied by documentary proof of a current IELTS certification (test date within two years of the application date).
• Submissions from applicants must be accompanied by a 500–800 word essay explaining the significance of winning the grant.
• Candidates cannot have government or organization sponsorship.

Postgraduate Applicants:

• To qualify for the benefit, applicants must be enrolled full-time in the trimester in which they will be starting their studies abroad. 
• The minimum requirement for applicants is a three-year Australian undergraduate degree, or its international equivalent (NOOSR guidance), with no individual results below 65%, an overall grade average of 70% or above, and no fail marks on file (no exceptions will be taken into account).
• IELTS (academic) grades with an overall score of 7.0 and no band lower than 6.5 are required of applicants. The application must be accompanied by documentary proof of a current IELTS certification (test date within two years of the application date).
• Submissions from applicants must be accompanied by a 500–800 word essay explaining the significance of winning the grant.
• Applicants cannot have organizations or governments sponsor them. 

Application Process:

Applicants must submit a complete MIT International Excellence Scholarship Form at the time of application for the offer of a place at MIT.

Benefits of the MIT International Excellence Scholarship, 2024:

Successful applicants will receive a fee deduction of the equivalent of 20% of the tuition fee of a program he or she is enrolled for the commencing trimester; March or July (November trimester if not eligible). This scholarship is not transferable to another Institute’s campus
