Overview

The 'Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship' for students belonging to minority communities aims to provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged yet meritorious students to pursue professional and technical courses in India.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must belong to minority communities as defined by the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992, including Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis).
  • Students must have secured at least 50% marks in their previous final examination.
  • The annual income of the applicant's parents/guardians from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.

Value of the Scholarship :

  • The scholarship covers technical and professional undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  • Financial assistance includes course fee reimbursement (up to Rs. 20,000 per annum or actuals, whichever is less) and maintenance allowance (Rs. 1,000 per month for hostellers and Rs. 500 per month for day scholars).
  • Full course fee reimbursement is available for students studying in 85 listed premier institutes.
