Merit-Based Scholarship at the University of Klagenfurt 2026:
The Merit-Based Scholarship at the University of Klagenfurt, awarded in accordance with the Student Support Act (§§ 57–61 Studienförderungsgesetz/StudFG, as amended), recognizes and rewards outstanding academic achievements. The scholarship is announced annually for students at the University of Klagenfurt. For the 2025/26 scholarship cycle, academic achievements completed during the 2025/26 academic year are considered.
Eligibility Criteria for the Merit-Based Scholarship at the University of Klagenfurt 2026:
- Applicant must be a regular student at the University of Klagenfurt.
- Applicant must have completed at least 40 ECTS credits during the relevant academic year, with grades ranging from 1 to 4.
- Applicant must have achieved an overall grade point average of 1.5 or better for all ECTS credits acquired during the academic year.
- Applicant must have completed the qualifying academic achievements between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026 for the 2025/26 scholarship cycle.
- Applicant must have their academic achievements recorded in the University of Klagenfurt examination records.
- Applicant must meet the applicable nationality or equal-status requirements for the scholarship. Third-country nationals are eligible only if they have equal status with Austrian citizens under the specified conditions.
- Applicant must submit the application through the online student portal during the specified application period.

Value of the Scholarship:
- The scholarship provides between €750 and €1,500.
Notes:
- Bachelor’s theses can count towards the ECTS requirement.
- Master’s theses count towards the requirement according to the curriculum when graded "excellent."
- Doctoral theses must be graded “excellent” to count towards the requirement.
- This is an internal scholarship for students already enrolled at the University of Klagenfurt and is not intended for students applying for admission to the University.
