Overview

The Melbourne Access Scholarship is offered to undergraduate students who are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.

Eligibility for the Melbourne Access Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens.
  • Applicants must have completed their International Baccalaureate or Year Twelve in Australia in the year before commencing their course at the University.
  • Candidates should have applied through the University’s special entry access scheme, using the VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) for commencement in the year following completion of Year 12 or International Baccalaureate.
  • Students must meet the Access Melbourne entry requirements for the University of Melbourne course nominated in your VTAC application.

Selection criteria:

This scholarship is offered to eligible candidates who have the highest overall level of disadvantage based on the information provided in their VTAC SEAS application and their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

Value of the Scholarship:

  • $7,500 per year for three years for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and from regional or remote areas in Australia.
  • $5,000 per year for three years for students who are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances.
