The Brighter World Entrance Award was established in 2020 by McMaster University to celebrate the achievements of Black students entering an undergraduate program.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be a self-identified Black student.
  • Applicants must be intending to enter Level 1 of their first baccalaureate degree program.

Application Process:

  • Applicants must submit the online application via "Entrance Awards by Application”.
  • Applicants must also submit the following documents:
    • Short essay describing the accomplishments the candidate is most proud of.
    • A reference letter.

Value of the Scholarship:

The selected candidates are awarded a sum of CAD 5,000.
