- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or international student;
- Be registered full-time in a master's program with a thesis in the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at the time of applying;
- Be enrolled in the second year of the master's program;
- Commit to making the initial submission of the dissertation no later than the 2021 summer semester;
- Not hold an FRQ-SC or SSHRC scholarship during the validity period of the scholarship.
