Martin Memorial Scholarship at Queens University Belfast 2026

This scholarship was established in 1921 with the balance of the R. T. Martin Memorial Fund plus a grant from Mrs. Martin. It is intended to assist students studying a course of teacher training who plan to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland to progress to a primary degree via part- or full-time study in the following University Colleges: Stranmillis and St Mary's University Colleges

Eligibility Criteria for Martin Memorial Scholarship at Queen's University Belfast 2026:

Applicants must:

• Be enrolled at Stranmillis University College or St Mary's University College.
• Be pursuing a recognised teacher training course.
• Intend to teach in a grant-aided school in Northern Ireland.
• Be proceeding to a primary degree, meaning an undergraduate degree, by full-time or part-time study.
• Have the necessary qualifications for university entrance.
• Have a good academic record, normally a 2:1 or above.
• Be experiencing financial difficulties.

Value of Martin Memorial Scholarship at Queen's University Belfast 2026:

• The value of the scholarship is up to £400 and may be increased if the candidate is not in receipt of an award from a public authority, if funds permit.
• All awards are subject to funding availability.
