The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are designed to support the creative and inventive potential of PhD-holding academics who are interested in expanding their skill set through advanced training, international mobility, and multidisciplinary and inter-sectoral experiences. Recipients of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships may be outstanding researchers from any country. The program is available to researchers who wish to reintegrate in Europe, to those who have been displaced by conflict, and to highly qualified researchers who want to resume their research careers. It also encourages researchers to work on research and innovation projects in the non-academic sector. Fellowships will be awarded to outstanding scholars travelling abroad to or from EU Member States, Horizon Europe Europe-associated countries, and non-associated Third Countries. The investigator and an academic or non-academic sector beneficiary will jointly submit applications. Either in Europe (that is, in an EU member state or a country linked with Horizon Europe) or in a third country unaffiliated with Horizon Europe, postdoctoral fellowships may be awarded.
- Researchers of any nationality who want to work on R&I projects can apply for European Postdoctoral Fellowships. They can move within Europe or come to Europe from anywhere in the world. These fellowships must typically last between 12 and 24 months.
- European citizens or permanent residents who want to work on R&I projects with organizations outside of EU member states and Horizon Europe Associated Countries are eligible to apply for Global Postdoctoral Fellowships. For these fellowships, a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 24 months must be spent abroad in a non-affiliated third country, followed by a required 12-month return period to a host organization located in an EU member state or a country linked with Horizon Europe.
