Marda Lee West Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to support biology students. Scholarships shall be awarded based upon the demonstration of outstanding achievement or potential and/or financial need.

Value - USD 4,000

Eligibility criteria for Marda Lee West Scholarship -

1. The applicant must be pursuing major in Biological Sciences.
2. Student must be in good academic standing
3. Class Level: Undergrad: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior. Graduate: Classified
4. Financial need may be considered, but not required
5. Enrollment: Full time at time of award

Application process -

The applicant must also answer the supplemental questions asked by the University.

1. Current resume/CV
2. Submit all transcripts (copies are acceptable)
3. Submit an essay addressing, “How have you personally overcome obstacles and challenges as you have worked towards your degree?” The essay should address at least one of the following areas: Low Income: Overcoming a disadvantaged economic background First Generation: First in family to attend college Environmental Background: Challenges such as immigrant, single-parent families, etc. Becoming bilingually fluent: Speaking or writing fluently with native speakers in a language other than English Veteran’s status
