Mahmoud S. Rabbani Fellowship by Lutfia Rabbani Foundation 2026

The Mahmoud S. Rabbani Fellowship is offered to Arab students to pursue a master's or PhD in the Netherlands and to Dutch students in Arab countries.

Eligibility for the Mahmoud S. Rabbani Fellowship:

• The applicants for the Mahmoud S. Rabbani Fellowship should be Arab or Dutch students.
• The Arab students are nationals from North African and Middle Eastern member countries of the Arab League.
• The Dutch students are candidates of Dutch nationality.
• The Arab students should be accepted into master's or Ph.D. in the Netherlands and the Dutch students should be accepted into master's or Ph.D. in the Arab world.
• The applicants should have good knowledge of English.
• Candidates must be nationals of any of the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, or Yemen. Applications coming from the Netherlands should be by Dutch nationals.

Documents required:

• The candidates applying for the Mahmoud S. Rabbani Fellowship should submit a curriculum vitae, an invitation letter from the host institution, motivation, and a statement of purpose.
• The applicants should submit a copy of their passport, color passport-sized photo, and copies of degrees and diplomas.
• The candidates are expected to submit signed references from two academic referees, a program outline, and the budget for it.

Selection Criteria:

• The applicants for the Mahmoud S. Rabbani Fellowship are assessed based on their academic excellence.
• The candidates are evaluated based on the contribution of the proposed field of study to the applicant's academic and professional development and their motivation.

Value: The maximum amount of an MSR scholarship is €15,000
