Madeleine Selwyn Smith Memorial Award at University of Melbourne 2026

A graduate student working on arboricultural research is eligible to receive the Madeleine Selwyn-Smith Memorial Award each year.

Eligibility Criteria for the Madeleine Selwyn Smith Memorial Award at the University of Melbourne:

• Applicants may come from any nationality.
• Applicants must be enrolled in graduate-level coursework or graduate research in the Agriculture, Food, and Ecosystem Sciences (SAFES) program or its successor.
• Applicants must be undertaking arboricultural research.

Selection Criteria for the Madeleine Selwyn Smith Memorial Award at the University of Melbourne:

Eligible candidates will be ranked based on:

• The quality of research completed in the discipline of arboriculture, or generally the furtherance of the planting, maintenance or preservation of trees.
• The impact of additional support on the research project.

Value of the Madeleine Selwyn Smith Memorial Award at the University of Melbourne:

A one-off payment of up to $1,000 for master's students and $3,000 for Graduate Research Science students.
