Mackenzie Family First Nations HDR Scholarship at University of Southern Queensland
The Mackenzie Family First Nations HDR Scholarship supports First Nations domestic students studying or commencing a PhD in 2024. Applications in all research areas are welcome, and students can connect with supervisors or explore research opportunities at UniSQ. Established in 2022 through a gift from the Mackenzie Family, the scholarship is supported by an endowment fund to encourage and support the development of First Nations HDR students.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must have completed a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours (or equivalent) and have applied for, or be currently enrolled in, a PhD at UniSQ.
- The applicant must be a First Nations Australian citizen and be commencing or continuing their PhD study in 2024.
Selection Criteria:
- The applicant must demonstrate a relationality to Country through engagement with identified First Nations communities, organisations, and community-led initiatives or programs.
- The applicant must show evidence of academic achievement and potential for scholastic success.
- The applicant must provide any other information considered relevant by the Selection Committee to support their future research development.
Application process:
- The applicant must provide digital copies of the following: Curriculum vitae, Statement of Project Relation to Country, demonstrating relationality to Country through engagement with identified First Nations communities and organisations, Confirmation of Heritage documentation, Preliminary Research Thesis Topic Proposal, Education qualifications (testamur and academic transcripts for all undergraduate and postgraduate awards), List of any research presentations and/or publications and Documentation confirming citizenship.
- The application must be submitted via the UniSQ Scholarship Application Management System by the closing date.
Award: AUD 6,000 as a single annual allowance only.
