This scholarship is established through a bequest from the late Leo Howard, a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at The University of Queensland, along with additional funds raised by his friends to enhance his bequest and create a fitting memorial in his honour.

Eligibility Criteria for Leo Howard Memorial Bursary at University of Queensland 2026:

You are eligible if you:

  • Are enrolled full-time in one of the following programs:
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Master of Engineering
      An Engineering dual program.
  • Have completed between 12 to 18 units.
  • Can demonstrate financial hardship.

Application Process:

Eligible students must apply through an online application form and submit the following:

  • A cover letter
  • A resume
  • A copy of your academic report from mySI-net
  • Evidence of financial hardship, such as Centrelink statements, ATO statements, or family income documents.

Value of the scholarship:

The Associate Dean (Academic) will determine the value of the scholarships annually.
