Overview

Eligibility for the KWEF Overseas Research Grant Program:

Applicants must:

  • Conduct research in Malaysia between October 2026 and September 2027.
  • Be researchers at schools or public institutes in Malaysia, not funded by private companies or foreign governments.
  • Be a young academician or researcher under 40 years old (born after April 1, 1986).
  • For PhD candidates, obtain approval from their supervisor.
  • Master's students are not eligible.
  • Accept and comply with obligations outlined in the Letter of Acceptance (form KWEF-26RGA-F52).

Value of the Grant:

The successful applicants of the KWEF Overseas Research Grant Program will receive a research award of 400,000 yen.
