The Josephine De Karman Fellowship Trust was established by the late Dr. Theodore von Karman in 1954, who is a world-renowned aeronautics expert.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant may come from any nationality.
  • The applicant must be a final-year PhD student.
  • The applicant must be enrolled in one of the eligible institutes.
  • The applicant must carry out the studies only in the US.
  • The PhD applicants who will defend their dissertation in or about June 2026 are eligible for the fellowship.

Application Process:

  • All eligible candidates must apply online on PCF’s Scholarship Portal to be considered for the fellowship.
  • The candidates must have outstanding letters of recommendation, significant early scholarly contributions, and have completed a significant portion of the dissertation at the time of application.

Value of the Fellowship:

The successful candidates are awarded a sum of USD 28,000 each.
