The University of Melbourne will draw students of the highest caliber thanks to the Jopling Family Rowing Scholarships. Scholarship recipients will have shown leadership in the community, excelled academically, and been exceptionally skilled rowers. The scholarships are intended to provide the next generation of students a chance to succeed with the hope that this will motivate them to give back to their communities.

Eligibility Criteria for the Jopling Family Rowing Scholarship:

Applicants must:

  • Be either intending or continuing students at the University of Melbourne for the 2026 academic year.
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and a strong commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Show sporting achievement and dedication in the sport of rowing.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities, a commitment to community service, and active citizenship.
  • Meet the admission requirements for their chosen undergraduate or postgraduate program.

Value of the award:

  • Up to AUD $25,000 per year (financial support)
  • Additional in-kind support (training resources, equipment access, etc.)
  • Support can be provided for up to four years, depending on the recipient’s course duration
