Many Australians remember Professor John Willett (1922–1993), the founding vice chancellor of Griffith University, as an insightful, innovative, and driven academic and organization builder. A fund was created at the Griffith Business School, previously the Graduate School of Management, to give scholarships to students from certain Asian nations in honor of Professor Willett's contributions to management education, particularly in Asia. For a maximum of two years, the John Willett International Scholarship will eliminate 50% of the tuition costs for the chosen recipient's Master of Global Development program at Griffith. The beneficiary will get the chance to gain the information and abilities necessary to advance sustainable development on a worldwide scale.

Eligibility for John Willett International Scholarship:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of one of the following nations: People's Republic of China, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, or Vietnam, if they are not citizens of Australia or New Zealand.
  • The student's prior coursework must have yielded a minimum GPA of 4.0 on a 7-point scale or its equivalent.
  • By the deadline for scholarship applications, the student should have applied to study for the Master of Global Development at Griffith. Candidates for this program must be brand-new students starting.
  • The applicant must meet all academic and language proficiency standards in English to be admitted to the postgraduate program of choice.
  • Begin Trimester 1 as a full-time student.
