About the scholarship:
Kristen Walker QC established this scholarship to celebrate the immense contributions John Walker QC has made to the areas of commercial and criminal law. Mr Walker, family and friends have also contributed generously to the scholarship.
Eligibility criteria for the John C Walker Scholarship:
- Applicants must be Australian or domestic students.
- Candidates should be admitted to the Melbourne JD at Melbourne Law School.
- Applicants must satisfy GAM eligibility criteria
- Juris Doctor applicants must supplement their application by completing the Disadvantaged Socio-economic Circumstances Supplementary Form

The scholarship is awarded based on demonstrated financial need.
Value of the John C Walker Scholarship:
This scholarship provides a one-off allowance of $6500, paid in two installments of $3250 in April and September. The first installment will be split into $1500 as an establishment allowance paid shortly after enrollment and $1750 in April.
