John C. Nelson Scholarship in Music Theory at Georgia State University 2025

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide funding to undergraduate students in the School of Music.

Eligibility for the John C. Nelson Scholarship in Music Theory at Georgia State University:

Applicants must:

• Be a senior-level undergraduate student in the School of Music.
• Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Have completed at least 12 credit hours of upper-division music theory coursework.
• Receive a faculty recommendation identifying them as a top student in music theory.
• Preferably intend to pursue a graduate degree in music theory.
• Not be primarily focused on composition.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must complete and submit the General Application Form to be considered for the scholarship.
