The John Innes Centre will offer at least one JIC International Scholarship to an overseas postgraduate research student studying for a PhD degree.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to receive a JIC International Scholarship candidates must:
- be liable to pay the Overseas University of East Anglia lab-based Postgraduate Research Tuition Fee (i.e. be assessed as ‘Overseas’ for Fee Status purposes), and;
- have a high upper-second-class undergraduate honours degree from a UK Higher Education Institution, or an equivalent from an Overseas Institution, and;
- be based at the John Innes Centre with a primary supervisor who is a Group Leader at the John Innes Centre, and;
- have met all their outstanding conditions for admission to the University.
Note:
Applicants are advised to secure additional funding to cover living costs, which are estimated to be in the region of £12,000 per year and will be liable for the tuition fees to the Home/EU level.
To take up the award students must be able to provide evidence of additional funding to cover living costs and the tuition fees to the level of the Home/EU (e.g. by external scholarship).
