James TF Chong Memorial Scholarship

The James T F Chong Memorial Scholarship was established in 2007 and is awarded to a student who is beginning their first year in the Bachelor of Law at Murdoch University.

Eligibility criteria of the James TF Chong Memorial Scholarship:

• The applicant must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• The applicant must be a current Year 12 school leaver with an ATAR of 90 or higher.
• The applicant must be prepared to commence full-time studies for the first year of the Bachelor of Laws at Murdoch University.
• The applicant must demonstrate a measure of commitment and initiative in their academic and/or personal life.

Application process for the James TF Chong Memorial Scholarship:

• This scholarship opens for applications from the first week of September each year.
• The applicant must provide a personal statement stating their academic goals and planned career pathway.
• The applicant must provide a personal statement stating how this scholarship will assist them in achieving these goals.
• The applicant must provide examples that demonstrate a measure of commitment and initiative in their academic and/or personal life.
• The applicant must provide their desire and motivation for studying law and studying at Murdoch University.
• The applicant must provide appropriate documentary evidence, such as a Centrelink statement or bank statement, which is dated within the last 30 days.
• The applicant must provide at least one written reference from a person of the community (who is not related to you by any means) who is qualified to comment on your commitment and initiative in your academic and/or personal life.

Payment method: 

• $2500 each semester for up to 1 year. 
• Scholarship payment processing commences from week 7 of each respective semester.
