James R. Fako Memorial

To establish a fitting memorial to James R. Fako, a partner with Price Waterhouse, a 1960 graduate and member of the KSU Alumni Association Board of Directors. He died in the tragic crash of the Air Florida jet in the Potomac River in Washington on January 13, 1982.

Eligibility criteria -

• The applicant must be pursuing an Accounting Major.
• They must've completed at least 3 courses in Accounting, excluding ACCT23020 and ACCT23021 -OR- Completed at least 2 courses in Accounting and be enrolled in a third Accounting course, excluding ACCT23020 and ACCT23021
• They can be junior, senior, or graduate students
• They must obtain a 2.5 GPA in Accounting, excluding ACCT23020 and ACCT23021.

Application process -

• Preference for 1-page statement on topic, "How I Plan to Use My Accounting Education".
• Preference for submission of 2 letters of recommendation (a) one letter from a professor of an upper division accounting course which the applicant has completed before application, and (b) other letter should be from a professor of any non-accounting course taken prior to application.
• May be asked to interview with scholarship committee
