Columbia Law School’s Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship supports graduate students specializing in international trade, trade law, public interest, and human rights.
Eligibility for the Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship:
- Applicants must first be admitted to the LL.M. Program at Columbia Law School.
- Candidates must hold a first degree in law (generally defined as the degree which qualifies them to practice law in their jurisdiction). A degree in a field other than law generally does not suffice for admission.
- International lawyers who intend to reside and practice law in the United States permanently should apply for the J.D. degree, the first degree in law, rather than the LL.M.
Benefits:
The Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship—underwritten by the Indian government—provides partial to full funding for up to three fellows per academic year.
