Grants for Foreign and Italian Citizens Living Abroad by the Italian Government promote international cooperation in cultural, scientific, and technological fields, support Italian language and culture, and strengthen Italy’s economic system globally.
Eligibility Criteria for Grants for Foreign and Italian Citizens Living Abroad by the Italian Government 2025:
- Be a foreign citizen living abroad or an Italian citizen living abroad (IRE).
- Meet age limits depending on the level of study:
- For Bachelor’s degree or single‑cycle degree (1° cycle) programs: be not older than 23 years.
- For Master’s degree programs (2° cycle): be not older than 28 years and have completed a first‑cycle (Bachelor) equivalent.
- For Higher Education for Fine Arts, Music and Dance (AFAM) programs: be not older than 28 years.
- For PhD programs: be not older than 30 years.
- For Research projects under academic supervision (“co‑tutela”): be not older than 40 years.
- Have obtained the academic qualification required for enrollment in the selected Italian program.
Value of Grants for Foreign and Italian Citizens Living Abroad by the Italian Government 2025:
- 9-month grant: €9,000 per academic year (paid in three installments)
- 3-month Italian language & culture courses: €3,000
- Tuition fee exemptions may apply; health and accident insurance included
Application Process:
- Applicants must apply online via the “Study in Italy” portal.
- Fill in the online application form and upload the required documents.
- Select up to three course options (of the same program type) at Italian institutions.
- Submit the application by the deadline.
