Irene Stanley Biochemistry Award at University of Melbourne 2026

financially supported by a kind gift from Dr. Irene Stanley, Ph.D., BSc(Hons), Ph.D., a seasoned educator in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. An undergraduate student who has finished one or more biochemistry courses and demonstrated academic achievement in the field will receive an award each year from the fund's earnings.

Eligibility for the Irene Stanley Biochemistry Award:

Applicants must:

• Be an undergraduate student.
• Be a current student at the time of consideration.
• Have completed both of the following second-year subjects in the previous calendar year:
  • BCMB20002 – Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
  • BCMB20005 – Techniques in Molecular Science
• Have achieved the highest aggregate mark across the above subjects among eligible students.

Value of the Irene Stanley Biochemistry Award:

A one-off payment of up to $1,000

Application Process:

• No application required.
• Automatic consideration for all students who completed both eligible subjects in the previous year.
