Eligibility for the Investigating the Host-Pathogen Interface of Mycobacterium Abscessus Infection:
- candidates must be nationals of New Zealand or permanent residents of Australia.
- A bachelor's degree in a biological science or biomedical field is required of applicants.
- Strong academic credentials and previous laboratory experience are essential for candidates.
- Earning an honors degree with first class or second class division 1; master's degree coursework with a research thesis lasting at least six months; or master's degree research.

- The candidate must be proficient in using standard research software on a computer and able to keep meticulous lab records.
- Applicant should be familiar with common laboratory procedures like flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, RNA extraction, qPCR, western blotting, cell culture, aseptic method, and primer design
Benefits:
- $32,500 per year (RTP Stipend rate, indexed annually)
- Additional funds ($7.5k) during the PhD for travel and other PhD-related expenses.
