International Merit Award at University of Kansas 2026

Undergraduate students pursuing degrees feel honored to have access to merit-based scholarships provided by KU International Admissions.

Eligibility for International Merit Award at the University of Kansas :

• candidates must be first-year students who enroll in at least 12 credit hours for both the fall and spring semesters
• Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.25 (out of 4).

Value of the scholarship:

based on the candidate's high school GPA

Scholarship Requirements Award amount

• KU Excellence 3.95-4.00 GPA $64,000 ($16,000/year)
• KU Distinction 3.85-3.94 GPA $56,000 ($14,000/year)
• KU Achievement 3.70-3.84 GPA $48,000 ($12,000/year)
• KU Performance 3.50-3.69 GPA $40,000 ($10,000/year)
• KU Access          3.25-3.49 GPA $32,000 ($8,000/year)

Important note for scholarship renewal:

• The student needs to be enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 KU GPA.
• Scholarships are awarded for eight semesters of study or the completion of a student's first bachelor's degree, whichever comes first.
