Overview

The Northern Arizona University (NAU) has established International Excellence Award, in 2024 to provide opportunities for high-achieving underrepresented international students to attend NAU. It is a merit-based tuition waiver for first-time F-1 undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking international students admitted directly into a university degree program on the Flagstaff campus.

Eligibility criteria for the NAU International Excellence Award:

  • Open to all international students.
  • Applicants must be first-time F-1 undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking international students admitted directly into a university degree program on the Flagstaff campus.
  • Applicants must demonstrate good academic merit.
  • Applicants must be paying full out-of-state tuition with personal or family funds (sponsored students or students receiving tuition discounts are not eligible)
  • Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of consideration

Value of the NAU International Excellence Award:

Successful applicants of the NAU International Excellence Award will receive a tuition waiver. 

Application:

  • Students who meet the criteria are automatically considered once they submit a complete international student admission application.
  • No additional application is needed
  • Awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis
