Overview

The INPEX Scholarships are offered by the INPEX Scholarship Foundation which is a non-profit organization in Japan. The purpose of the foundation is to promote mutual understanding, friendship, and goodwill between Indonesia and Japan through an exchange of students through scholarship awards. The scholarship is awarded to three candidates only.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidates should be Indonesian nationals.
  • The applicants should not be more than 30 years of age at the application time.
  • The candidates should have a “SARJANA” degree in natural science from a prestigious university in Indonesia.
  • The candidates should have at least 16 years of school education or equivalent academic background.
  • The candidates should have a CGPA of 3.0 or above.
  • The applicant must be planning to pursue natural science in a master’s program at a university in Japan.

Application Process:

  • Interested candidates must submit the online application form.
  • There are two rounds to the selection process.
    • Primary selection by the screening committee of the foundation.
    • Final Selection to be made by the Board of Directors.

Value of the scholarship

  • The selected candidates are awarded the following benefits:
    • JPY 60,000 upon arrival at Tokyo.
    • JPY 160,000 monthly. 
    • Commuter pass expenses in Japan.
    • Air ticket (Jakarta-Tokyo round trip, economy class), one-time only.
    • All school expenses are to be paid to the university in Japan.

Collateral includes either: Immovable property – a house or a flat or land (or) liquid security – an FD, or LIC or shares or bonds.
