Hugh McDougall Rankin Education Scholarship at University of Canterbury 2026

The purpose of the Hugh McDougall Rankin Education Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to science students in Christchurch both at state secondary school and tertiary institution levels.

Eligibility criteria for the Hugh McDougall Rankin Education Scholarship:

Applicants must:

• Be full-time undergraduate students undertaking a degree in a physical science subject
• Have successfully completed at least one year of tertiary study at Lincoln University, University of Canterbury, or Ara Institute of Canterbury
• Have four or more years of secondary schooling in a state (not state-integrated) school within Christchurch City
• Be under the age of 25 at the time of application
• Have a B+ Grade Point Average or higher
• Previous recipients, including secondary school recipients, are eligible to apply

Value of Hugh McDougall Rankin Education Scholarship:

Domestic tuition fees up to NZD $7,000.
