Hawk Scholars Scholarship
Hawk Scholars Scholarship (HSS) is a competitive scholarship based on exceptional merit. Date of unconditional admission and date of scholarship application, as well as GPA, are used in the awarding process.
Eligibility criteria -
- Summer 2026 or Fall 2026 must be the student's first semester as one of the following:
- Resident graduate student,
- Non-Texas resident undergraduate or graduate student, or
- International undergraduate or graduate student.
- New students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (as recalculated by UHCL)
- Must have UHCL Admissions Application on file
- Must have paid the Admission Application fee
- Must have a UHCL identification number
Application process -
- Access to E-Services will be granted after the admission application is processed, and you are required to apply for this scholarship. You MUST be unconditionally admitted by the final deadline to be considered for an award.
- Please log in to E-Services and click on "Admissions."
- Next, click on "Apply for UHCL Scholarships". Do not fill in any information at this point
- Click "Search"
- The Hawk Scholars Scholarship should pop up
- Do NOT click on "Apply."
- Click on "Details" to view the criteria
- Make sure you meet the criteria of the scholarship before applying
- Next go back and click "Apply". The aid year you are applying for is "2027"
- Answer any questions
- Submit
Renewal criteria -
- Continue to enroll in and complete at least 6 credit hours each semester. Students must also maintain academic good standing and a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Award - The award amount is $2,000 ($1,000 for the Fall 2026 semester and $1,000 for the Spring 2027 semester). Recipients will be eligible to pay resident tuition for Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027.
