The growth of Alberta’s economy depends on the development of new and emerging technologies, which have applications in sectors such as agriculture, health, oil and gas, and many others. This research depends heavily on the work of highly skilled graduate students studying at universities around the province.

Eligibility criteria for the Graduate Student Scholarships Program:

  • Applicants may come from any nationality.
  • Applicants must enroll in one of the following universities:
    • Athabasca University
    • Concordia University of Edmonton
    • University of Alberta
    • University of Calgary
    • University of Lethbridge
  • Applicants must enroll in a research-based master’s or doctoral degree at any of the above universities.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must apply to their preferred institution.

Value of the Award:

The successful candidates are awarded a sum ranging from CAD 12,000 to CAD 31,000 per year.
