Graduate Equity Fellowship at College of Graduate Studies 2025

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Graduate Equity Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled as graduate students at SJSU for the Fall/Spring 2024-2025 academic year, completing at least 6 units in each academic term (Fall and Spring).
• These 12 units must appear on the master's candidacy form.
• Coursework taken to complete program prerequisites does not count toward this requirement.
• Academic Status: Applicants must be in good academic standing.
• Financial Need: The fellowship is aimed at economically disadvantaged students who have demonstrated success in overcoming financial barriers to their education.
• Exclusions: Credential students are not eligible for this fellowship.
• The program also encourages a diverse pool of applicants, with an emphasis on providing opportunities for students who have successfully navigated financial challenges.

Scholarship Value and Benefits

• The Graduate Equity Fellowship offers an award of $4,000 per year, which will be disbursed to eligible students to help minimize their financial burden.
• The award is intended to assist students in completing their master’s degree programs more quickly by reducing their debt.
• Additionally, the program promotes faculty mentoring opportunities, providing students with valuable guidance throughout their academic journey.

Application Process

• The application for the Graduate Equity Fellowship must be completed by the deadline of June 3, 2024.

The process includes the following steps:

• Eligibility Review: Ensure you meet the requirements for enrollment, academic status, and financial need.
• You must be enrolled in both Fall and Spring terms of the 2024-2025 academic year and complete a minimum of 12 units during that time.
• Application Submission: Follow the links to the program’s eligibility requirements, application guidelines, and application form.
• Complete the application and submit it by June 3, 2024.
