The Glenys Wood Scholarship, funded by Initiatives of Change New Zealand, honors her lifelong dedication to peace and trust-building. It supports students at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington pursuing Honours or Masters studies in areas like peacebuilding, conflict resolution, restorative justice, social cohesion, and ethical leadership.
Eligibility Criteria of Glenys Wood Memorial Scholarship:
- Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents and be enrolled, or intending to enroll, part-time or full-time in an Honours or Master’s degree at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington in areas such as Peace Building, Trust Building, Conflict Resolution, Restorative Justice, Social Cohesion, Community Building, Cross-Cultural Understanding, Change Making, or Ethical Leadership.
- Studies should focus on topics related to peace, justice, ethical leadership, and fostering social and community cohesion.
Selection Criteria: The scholarship will be awarded to a student undertaking or intending to undertake a postgraduate degree within an area of study related to themes of peace and trust building and ethical leadership, which are two of the key focus areas of the international organisation of Initiatives of Change.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: NZD 7,500.
Note:
- The successful recipient must write a letter of thanks to Initiatives of Change New Zealand including their intended area/topic of research or study.
- The Scholarship will be paid as a stipend in monthly instalments.
