GFS (Girls Friendly Society) Pasifika Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington
The GFS Pasifika Scholarship supports female domestic Pasifika students under 25 facing financial hardship and enrolled full-time in tertiary study. It provides a portion of tuition fees and regular mentoring to help students succeed academically and socially. The scholarship is means-tested and open to students of all religions or none, aiming to support motivated students from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
Eligibility Criteria of GFS (Girls Friendly Society) Pasifika Scholarship:
- Applicants must be female Pasifika students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents and under 25 years of age.
- Applicants must have completed one year of full-time study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and intend to enrol full-time in their second undergraduate year.
- Applicants must be experiencing financial hardship.
Selection Criteria: Preference is given to applicants experiencing financial hardship, showing initiative, and demonstrating the ability to successfully complete their enrolled degree.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: Upto NZD 12,000.
Note: This scholarship is comprised of NZD 6,000 for the second year of study and NZD 6,000 for the third year (or split into NZD 6,000 for the second year and NZD 3,000 each for the third and fourth years of study).
