Overview

The scholarship is a competitive payment of £10,000 that can be applied to the cost of tuition for an undergraduate degree program that begins in the fall of 2024. New students from GEMS institutions in the United Arab Emirates who enroll at the university in 2024 are eligible for the award. Before applying for this scholarship, you must have an acceptance to study at the University of Sheffield.

Eligibility for the GEMS Undergraduate Merit Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be currently studying at a GEMS institution in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, or Egypt.
  • Applicants must receive an offer to study a full-time or part-time undergraduate degree or foundation degree program at the University of Sheffield.
  • The chosen degree/foundation program must be scheduled to commence at the University of Sheffield in September 2025. All undergraduate degree courses are eligible with the exceptions of Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200).
  • Applicants must be self-funded and eligible to pay the overseas tuition fee.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are granted an award worth GBP 10,000 towards the tuition fees.
